Welcome to Dawning Day Farm!
We’re a family-run farm stand, pumpkin patch, and corn maze located in beautiful Battle Ground, Washington. Operated by Billy, his wife Diana, his mother Betty, and family. Our farm offers a wide variety of seasonal vegetables—including heirloom and cherry tomatoes, sweet corn, pumpkins, squash, zucchini, and more.
Our story begins in 1938, when Marion and Laura Johnson, Billy Adams’ grandfather and grandmother, moved from Ogden, Utah, to Battle Ground and, with their children, Donald, Betty, Boyd, and Shirley, established Sparkledue Holstein Farm, a thriving dairy with approximately 150 milking cows. His son Boyd, wife Terri, and daughters Lori, Jennifer, Kim, and Kristin, continued the dairy until operations came to an end in 2000. However, the land continued to thrive through crop farming.
In 2005, Billy and his wife, Diana, launched Dawning Day Farm in Missouri, bringing their own vision of farming to life. But just a few years later, they returned to Washington to be closer to family and carry on the legacy here. Billy took over crop farming from his uncle Boyd, focusing on sweet corn and hay, and eventually expanding into something even more fun.
Over time, the idea of growing more than crops began to take root. What began as a simple pumpkin patch in 2023 grew into a full family experience. By 2024, we added a corn maze, farm animals, and activities.
Our farm stand, located on the corner, is run by Betty Adams, Marion’s daughter and Billy's mother, who has tended the garden for over 20 years. Billy, his brother Kevin, their wives Diana and Shelley, and a whole crew of grandkids all pitch in to make it special. Every veggie we grow and every pumpkin you pick has a bit of that family spirit behind it.
We are also proud to remain active in our local farming community. Billy is involved with organizations like the Farm Bureau, the Holstein Association, and Washington State Holsteins. Diana and Shelley are members of the Clark County Dairy Women, and the whole family enjoys being part of the Clark County Fair each year—you’ll even spot our cows there alongside our cousin Lori’s herd, the original Sparkledue! Our kids also keep the tradition going strong through their involvement in 4-H.
We’re proud of how far we’ve come and excited for what’s ahead. Whether you’re here for fresh produce, fall fun, or a walk through history, we hope you’ll feel right at home here on the farm.
Come visit us—we’d love to meet you!
